Taper Roller Bearing – the mainshaft bearing used in the LT77 and R380 five-speed manual gearboxes, located at the rear of the primary pinion where the front of the mainshaft spigots into it.
The taper roller construction carries the combined radial and axial thrust loads at the front of the mainshaft, locating the shaft as it rotates against the rear of the input (primary pinion) gear. Renewed as part of a gearbox rebuild.
