Dowel – Bell Housing Alignment in the gearbox/engine interface assembly.

This dowel locates the bell housing accurately relative to the engine block, ensuring correct alignment of the gearbox input shaft with the engine crankshaft. It is used across a wide range of manual-gearbox applications covering 4-cylinder, V8, Td5, and BMW M52 2.8L engines. Dowels should be inspected for wear or damage whenever the gearbox is removed and replaced if they are loose, corroded, or distorted.
