Description

Steering Column Lock is the lock barrel and housing assembly clamped to the upper steering column, part of the steering column and lockset assembly.

It houses the key barrel and the spring-loaded locking bolt that engages the column shaft, immobilising the steering when the key is withdrawn. Fitted to applications without the automatic transmission shift interlock mechanism.

A worn or seized barrel typically shows as a key that will not turn, or will not return from the start position, and the lock is renewed as a complete assembly.
