ABS Accumulator – a hydraulic pressure storage vessel within the ABS brake booster assembly.

The accumulator stores pre-charged brake fluid pressure to provide immediately available power-assisted braking on pedal application. The brake pressure pump recharges the accumulator automatically when system pressure falls below the operating threshold. A failing accumulator typically presents as a hard or unresponsive brake pedal accompanied by an ABS warning lamp.
