The sill runs along the lower edge of both door apertures on the right-hand side, forming part of the load-bearing body structure between the front and rear wheel arches. It is a weld-in steel panel that closes between the inner sill and the outer body skin, providing the lower door seal face. Replacement is typically required when corrosion perforates the outer panel, a common failure point on vehicles exposed to road salt and standing water.
