Description

Snatch Block – a winch recovery pulley used to redirect a winch line or to double its effective pulling capacity. Rated for a 10-tonne working load and suitable for general recovery use.

The hinged side plate opens so the winch rope or cable can be seated over the sheave mid-line, without threading it from the end. Rigged around a fixed anchor point it changes the direction of pull; rigged back to the load it provides a mechanical advantage that reduces the load carried by the winch.

A grease nipple on the sheave allows the pulley bearing to be lubricated in service.
