Description

Rear Brake Drum for the rear drum brake assembly. The drum locates on the rear hub and provides the machined friction surface that the brake shoes act against under braking.

The friction bore and shoe contact face are finish-machined so the shoes bed evenly and the self-adjuster and handbrake linkage operate through their designed range of travel. Supplied singly.

Inspect the drum for scoring, ovality and heat cracking whenever the brake shoes are renewed. A drum worn beyond its maximum service diameter reduces shoe contact area and gives a long, soft pedal. Replace drums in axle pairs to keep braking balanced from side to side.
