Description

Front Brake Disc – vented, 277 mm diameter. Part of the front brake discs and calipers assembly.

The disc mounts to the front hub flange and provides the friction surface clamped by the front caliper pads under braking. Internal vanes between the two friction faces draw cooling air radially through the disc, carrying heat away so the pads and caliper stay within working temperature and resist fade on long descents or repeated braking.

Nominal friction-face thickness is 21 mm, overall height 51.2 mm including the hub boss. Replace once wear reaches the 18 mm minimum, or earlier if the disc is scored, heat-cracked or outside run-out limits. Replace as an axle pair and bed in with fresh pads.

Note: this is the 277 mm vented front disc. The 262 mm solid front disc is a separate part and the two are not interchangeable.
