Front Brake Caliper – right-hand side, for the non-vented (solid) front disc installation.

The caliper straddles the brake disc and carries the hydraulic pistons that press the friction pads against the disc faces when the pedal is applied. It bolts to the machined mounting face on the swivel housing and takes its hydraulic supply through the flexible brake hose at the caliper inlet port. This is the caliper pattern used with solid front discs and is not interchangeable with the later vented-disc installation, which uses a wider caliper body and correspondingly thicker pads.

Supplied as a complete caliper assembly for one side. Calipers are best renewed or overhauled in axle pairs so that braking effort stays balanced across the axle.
