Description

Inner Tie Rod – M16 – the inner spindle rod connecting end in the rack-and-pinion steering linkage.

It threads into the end of the steering rack and transfers rack travel to the outer track rod end, its ball joint allowing the linkage to articulate as the suspension moves through its travel and the wheels steer. The M16 thread identifies the rack variant it belongs to; the M20 inner rod used on other racks is not interchangeable with it.

Fits both right-hand and left-hand drive steering gear. Wear shows as play at the rack end, vague or wandering steering and uneven wear across the front tyres. Front wheel alignment must be checked and reset after fitting.
