Description

Belt Tensioner for the power steering pump drive of the 1.8L 4-cylinder K-Series petrol engine.

The tensioner maintains correct tension on the auxiliary belt that drives the power steering pump, taking up slack so the belt grips its pulleys without slipping. Correct tension keeps the pump turning reliably and prevents belt squeal and premature wear.

Supplied as an assembly. A worn tensioner bearing or a weak tensioner allows the belt to slip, reducing power steering assistance and accelerating belt wear.
