Description

Crankshaft Position Sensor forms part of the engine management system, mounted to read the crankshaft.

It senses the passing teeth of the reluctor ring on the crankshaft to report rotational position and speed to the engine ECU, which uses the signal to control fuel injection timing and engine synchronisation. An inductive sensor fitted to diesel applications.
