Description

Fuel Sedimentor is a water and sediment trap in the diesel fuel supply line, installed upstream of the fuel filter and injection pump.

Fuel passes slowly through the unit so that water and heavier particulate contamination settle out under gravity into the collection bowl, protecting the filter and injection equipment from the abrasion and corrosion caused by contaminated fuel. For pre-Td5 diesel engines; the accumulated water is drained off periodically.
