Description

Lambda Sensor (oxygen sensor) fitted to the exhaust downpipe, upstream of the catalytic converter, in the engine management circuit of the 4.0/4.6L V8 petrol engine.

The front sensor measures the oxygen content of the exhaust gas as it leaves the cylinder head and returns this signal to the engine control module. The module uses it to hold the air/fuel mixture in closed-loop control, keeping fuelling accurate and combustion efficient.
