Description

Sump Plug for the engine oil sump (oil pan), part of the engine lubrication system.

It threads into the drain hole at the base of the sump to seal in the engine oil, and is removed to drain the oil during an oil change. A sealing washer at the plug face keeps the joint oil-tight once the plug is refitted and tightened.

The sealing washer is normally renewed each time the plug is removed.
