Fan Coupling – Electric is the electronically controlled viscous fan clutch that drives the engine cooling fan on the 3.0L V6 diesel engine.

Mounted on the fan drive at the front of the engine, it engages and disengages the cooling fan in response to cooling demand. Electronic control lets the coupling modulate fan speed on demand rather than relying solely on the passive bimetallic response of a conventional viscous clutch, reducing parasitic drag and improving cooling efficiency.
