Description

Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor for the air intake and emission control system.

The sensor mounts in the intake manifold and measures the absolute pressure of the charge air downstream of the turbocharger. The engine control module combines this signal with intake air temperature and engine speed to calculate air mass, and uses it to control fuelling, boost pressure and exhaust gas recirculation.

Applies to the 2.2 and 2.4 litre diesel engines. A faulty or drifting sensor commonly presents as reduced power, uneven running or a stored boost or EGR fault code.
