Description

Gearbox Mainshaft is the central output shaft of the LT77 5-speed manual gearbox, running the full length of the transmission from the input end to the output flange.

The mainshaft carries the speed gears, synchro hubs, and associated bearings that together form the gear-change mechanism. It transmits drive from the selected gear through the gearbox output and into the transfer case. The shaft is precision-machined to accept the mainshaft gear stack and must be replaced if worn journal surfaces compromise bearing or gear seating.
