Fuel Injector for the EFI V8 petrol engine, part of the multi-point electronic fuel injection system.

The injector is an electrically-operated solenoid valve fitted in the inlet manifold port. The engine ECU pulses it open to meter and atomise pressurised fuel into the inlet tract feeding its cylinder, the open duration setting the quantity delivered. A correct spray pattern and flow rate are essential for even running, smooth idle and accurate fuelling across all cylinders.
