Camshaft for the 3.9L V8 EFI petrol engine.

Mounted within the cylinder block of this overhead-valve, cam-in-block engine, the camshaft is driven from the crankshaft by the timing gears and actuates the hydraulic lifters and pushrods. These in turn open and close the intake and exhaust valves in sequence with engine rotation.

The camshaft lobe profile sets the valve timing and lift that govern the engine’s breathing characteristics.
