This rubber hose forms part of the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) circuit, connecting the EGR valve to the associated pipe or intercooler connection point. The EGR system routes a metered quantity of exhaust gas back into the intake to reduce combustion temperatures and emissions. Cracks, splits, or deterioration in this hose will cause air leaks and disrupted EGR flow.
