Description

Exhaust Valve Guide for the 2.6L six-cylinder petrol engine. The guide is pressed into the cylinder head and locates the exhaust valve stem, holding the valve concentric with its seat through every opening and closing cycle.

As part of the valvetrain it also conducts heat away from the valve stem into the cylinder head and controls stem lubrication at the exhaust port, where operating temperatures are highest. Worn guides allow the valve to run off-centre, causing seat wear, oil consumption and loss of compression.
