The clutch cross shaft is supported at its pivot point by this spherical bearing bush, which is housed in the clutch cross shaft bearing housing on the bellhousing. The self-aligning spherical geometry accommodates minor angular misalignment between the shaft and housing, allowing smooth operation of the clutch release mechanism. Replacement is advisable when wear produces noticeable slack or stiffness in the clutch pedal action.
