Description

Ignition Coil for the V8 petrol ignition system. It converts the low-voltage supply into the high-tension voltage that fires the spark plugs through the distributor.

This is a ballast-type (low-resistance) coil designed to operate through an external ballast resistor. The resistor drops the supply voltage during normal running and is bypassed on cranking to give a stronger spark for starting. It must be used with a matching ballast resistor (companion part 134176) and should not be fitted to a full-voltage system without one.
