Starter Pinion Retaining Kit for the inertia (Bendix) drive of the starter motor fitted to 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder petrol engines.

The starter pinion slides along the armature shaft to mesh with the flywheel ring gear while cranking, then returns clear once the engine fires. This kit supplies the components that retain the pinion and sleeve in their correct working position on the shaft.

It is intended for the inertia-type petrol starter and is not used on V8 or diesel applications, which use a pre-engaged starter of different design.
