Description

Front Lower Suspension Arm (wishbone) for the left-hand side of the front independent suspension, locating the lower end of the wheel knuckle against the front subframe.

The lower arm sets the bottom pivot of the front upright and so governs camber and caster, while feeding braking, cornering and impact loads back into the subframe through its inner bushes. The outer ball joint lets the knuckle steer and rise with wheel travel under load.

The arm is serviced as a complete assembly: where the bushes or the ball joint have worn, the whole arm is replaced rather than individual components being pressed out. Knocking over broken surfaces, vague or wandering steering and uneven wear on the inner tyre edge are the usual signs. Replace both sides together on a high-mileage vehicle and have the front geometry reset after fitting.
