Inline Fuel Filter Kit from the Td5 2.5L 5-cylinder turbo diesel fuel system. The assembly sits in the fuel feed line, filtering the diesel ahead of the injection system and separating water out of the fuel.

The kit comprises the filter housing – with integral non-return and air-bleed valves – the inline fuel filter element, and the water-in-fuel sensor that detects water accumulation in the filter. The housing valves hold fuel-line prime and assist bleeding after a filter change.

The original under-arch mounting exposes the housing to road spray, so a corroded or porous housing causing air leaks, hard starting or poor running is a common reason for replacement.
