The rear outrigger is a steel cross-member that extends laterally from the main chassis rail, providing a body mounting point and contributing to the structural integrity of the rear chassis section. This is a non-galvanised steel component and is replaced during chassis repair or restoration where the existing outrigger has corroded or been damaged.
