Timing Belt Kit for the camshaft drive of the 2.5L 300 Tdi turbo-diesel engine.

The timing belt synchronises crankshaft and camshaft rotation to maintain correct valve timing, while the tensioner and idler pulley set and hold belt tension and tracking during operation.

This kit comprises the timing belt, tensioner, idler pulley, crankshaft gear, front cover gasket and the associated studs and bolts. It is the modified specification, which locates the spacer within the idler pulley to prevent the belt walking forward off the pulleys, a known weakness of the original 300 Tdi timing arrangement. Where an early-type installation used a separate idler spacer washer, that washer must be removed before this kit is fitted.
