Throttle cable – accelerator control cable assembly for the V8 petrol engine, part of the throttle linkage.

It connects the accelerator pedal to the throttle body linkage, converting pedal travel into throttle butterfly movement. The outer sheath locates in its bulkhead and bracket abutments while the inner cable carries the load, so a stretched inner or a binding outer shows up as excess pedal travel or a throttle that no longer returns cleanly to idle.
