Distributor Pick-Up Plate for the electronic ignition distributor on the 3.5L V8 petrol engine.

The plate is the base assembly inside the distributor body that carries the magnetic pick-up. As the reluctor rotates past it, the pick-up senses each passing tooth and generates the trigger signal the ignition amplifier uses to switch the coil and fire each cylinder. The plate also forms the movable base for the distributor’s timing-advance mechanism.

A failed pick-up or cracked plate causes erratic triggering, misfire, or a no-spark condition.
