Spark Plug – ignites the air/fuel mixture in the combustion chamber of the petrol engine. It threads into the cylinder head with its electrode gap exposed in the chamber, where the high-tension spark across the gap initiates each power stroke.

A resistor-type plug, it suppresses radio-frequency interference from the ignition system. Correct gap setting on installation supports reliable starting, a smooth idle and efficient combustion.
