Description

Crown Wheel & Pinion is the final-drive gear set within the differential, transferring drive from the propshaft into the axle and turning it through 90 degrees to the road wheels while providing the final gear reduction.

This set has a 10-spline pinion and a 47/10 tooth count, giving a 4.7:1 final-drive ratio. It fits Rover-type front or rear axles.

The crown wheel and pinion are a matched pair and must be fitted together, with the pinion depth and backlash set on assembly to establish correct tooth contact.
