Front Shock Absorber – part of the front suspension damping assembly.

Mounted between the front axle and its chassis bracket, the damper works with the front road spring to control axle oscillation and body movement, keeping the tyre loaded over uneven ground. Symptoms of a worn unit are float or wallow after a bump, nose dive under braking and cupped tyre wear.

This is the damper specification for coil-sprung / self-levelling chassis without air suspension and without Active Cornering Enhancement (ACE). Vehicles built with air suspension, or with ACE, take a different damper and the two are not interchangeable. Fit one per side and renew as an axle pair so damping stays balanced left to right.
