Description

Intercooler is the charge-air heat exchanger of the turbocharger induction system.

It sits between the turbocharger outlet and the engine intake, cooling the compressed air delivered by the turbo before it enters the cylinders. Lowering the charge-air temperature raises its density, improving combustion efficiency and helping protect the engine from excessive intake temperatures under boost.

Application: Td5 2.5L five-cylinder turbo diesel.
