Description

Intercooler Hose – moulded charge air hose connecting the turbocharger to the intercooler on the 2.5L Td5 five-cylinder turbo diesel engine.

The hose carries hot pressurised charge air from the turbocharger compressor outlet into the intercooler, where it is cooled before passing on to the inlet manifold. It works under full boost pressure with constant heat cycling and engine movement, and perishes or splits at the clamped ends over time; a failed hose vents boost and shows as loss of power under load with an audible air leak. Two hoses of this type are fitted per vehicle.
