Description

Valve Stem Oil Seal for the 1.8L K-Series four-cylinder and 2.5L KV6 petrol engines, part of the cylinder head valve train.

The seal fits over the top of the valve guide and runs on the valve stem, metering lubrication to the stem while preventing oil being drawn down the guide into the inlet or exhaust port. Hardened or worn seals typically show as oil consumption with blue exhaust smoke on start-up and on the overrun.

Seals are renewed with the valve springs compressed and removed, and are best replaced as a complete set across the cylinder head.
