Description

Front Crankshaft Oil Seal for the 4.4L M62 B44 V8 petrol engine, sealing the crankshaft nose at the front of the engine.

The seal is fitted into the timing cover and runs on the crankshaft sealing surface behind the pulley hub, retaining oil in the crankcase where the crankshaft passes out of the block to drive the front-end accessories. It is normally renewed whenever the front cover, timing chain assembly or crankshaft pulley is disturbed.

Inspect the sealing surface on the crankshaft and pulley hub for grooving before fitting, and install the seal square to its bore at the specified depth.
