Crankshaft Rear Seal and Retainer – the rear main oil seal and its housing, part of the cylinder block and plugs assembly at the rear of the crankshaft.

The retainer bolts to the rear face of the cylinder block and carries the seal that runs on the crankshaft flange, closing off the point where the crankshaft exits the block. It prevents engine oil escaping past the rear main journal and holds the seal in correct alignment. Fitted to the 3.0L V6 diesel engine.
