Description

Camshaft Position Sensor mounted in the cylinder head cover of the 2.2L four-cylinder common-rail diesel engine, reading the target on the camshaft.

The sensor tells the engine control module the camshaft angle. Read together with the crankshaft position signal, this identifies cylinder phase so that injection can be correctly timed. A failing sensor typically shows as extended cranking, a misfire, or a stored camshaft position circuit fault code.
