Description

Glow Plug is an electric heating element that warms the combustion chamber to assist cold starting of the 2.4L Duratorq-TDCi (Puma) diesel engine.

One plug is fitted per cylinder, threaded into the cylinder head so the heated tip projects into the combustion chamber. Energised by the glow plug control unit before and during cranking, it raises in-cylinder temperature for reliable ignition and reduced cold-start emissions.
