Description

Exhaust Manifold Gasket for the 1.8L K-Series petrol engine, part of the exhaust manifold assembly.

It seals the joint between the exhaust manifold flange and the exhaust ports in the cylinder head, containing exhaust gas and maintaining flow into the manifold. The gasket is a replace-on-disturbance item and should be renewed whenever the manifold is removed, with the manifold fixings tightened evenly to the specified torque.

A blown gasket at this joint produces a ticking or blowing noise that is loudest on a cold start and under load.
