Timing Chain Guide for the Td5 2.5L 5-cylinder turbo diesel, part of the timing chain drive assembly at the front of the engine.

The guide runs alongside the timing chain to control its path, take up slack and dampen vibration across the chain span between the crankshaft and camshaft sprockets. Correct guide condition keeps the chain running true and maintains accurate valve timing; a worn or cracked guide allows the chain to slap, accelerating wear on the chain, tensioner and sprockets.
