Description

Camshaft Sprocket for the 4.0L and 4.6L V8 petrol engine, part of the timing drive at the front of the engine.

It is driven by the timing chain from the crankshaft sprocket and turns the camshaft in time with the crankshaft, controlling valve timing. Worn teeth or a stretched chain cause timing error and noise, so the sprocket is best renewed together with the timing chain.
