Description

Valve Cotter in the cylinder head valvetrain, locking the valve spring retainer to the valve stem.

The cotters seat as a pair into the machined grooves at the top of the valve stem, holding the spring cap in place so the valve spring can load and close the valve. This is the three-groove type used on the 2.25L petrol and diesel, 200 TDi and 300 TDi engines.
