Description

Cam Follower – a roller-type tappet operating in the engine valve train, between the camshaft and the pushrod.

It rides on the camshaft lobe and transfers the lobe’s profile into linear motion, driving the pushrod that actuates the rocker arm to open the valve. The roller contact face reduces friction and wear at the cam-to-follower interface compared with a flat-faced tappet.

Supplied as a single follower; renew as a matched set with the camshaft where lobe or roller wear is present.
