Description

Crankshaft Oil Seal – Front seals the nose of the crankshaft where it passes through the timing cover on the Td5 2.5L 5-cylinder turbo diesel engine.

The seal seats in the front cover around the crankshaft snout, behind the crankshaft pulley and torsional damper, retaining engine oil within the timing case. It is a routine renewal item whenever the front cover, timing assembly or crankshaft pulley is disturbed, and should be fitted with the sealing lip and bore clean and lightly lubricated to avoid damage on installation.
