Description

Nut Plate – captive fixing plate used at the rear body upper mountings.

The plate holds the nut captive behind a blind or closed panel section, so the mounting bolt can be tightened from the outside without access to the reverse face. It also spreads the clamp load across the panel instead of concentrating it on a single nut face, which is why it is specified at body mounting points in thin-gauge sheet.

Two are used per vehicle at this mounting.
